Ladysmith KZN: Food for Life serves the community at large

As usual, the team was met with broad smiles and much appreciation

Food for Life, which is a non-profit organisation, is the world’s largest vegetarian food relief programme that serves over a million plates of cooked food a day.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, these brave members ventured out each month and handed out food hampers to the needy in various parts of Ladysmith.

On December 5, dedicated members, volunteers and well-wishers of the Food for Life branch prepared 900 plates of piping-hot breyani, dhall and salad for the community in the Acaciavale and Smartiesville areas.

As usual, the team was met with much appreciation, broad smiles and loud “thank you”s. Since the inception of Food for Life in Ladysmith, the members have served many people of all races and religions.

Vinodh Bahadhur, the head chef, said, “It gives me and our dedicated team great pleasure to serve the community of Ladysmith through the distribution of soul food.”

The team members express their heartfelt thank you to their donors, sponsors, and all those who assisted greatly during these trying and unsafe times.

The organisation is funded largely by generous public donations. If you would like to be part of the Food for Life Ladysmith family, please feel free to contact Vinodh Bahadur on 0833008637 or Manoj Lalloo on 0713542432
