Disaster management officials are meeting to outline plans to assist residents in need.

A disaster management joint operations committee (JOC) is currently meeting at Community Safety, as the Ncandu River begins to breach its banks.

Municipal Head of Communications, Mlungisi Khumalo said an urgent meeting had been called and teams would be dispatched at its conclusion to assist residents with any challenges relating to flooding.

He committed to providing more details once the JOC meeting has concluded.

In the meantime, the flood warning siren sounded a short while ago in Paradise – residents are urged to be cautious and prepare for possible evacuations.
