NEWCASTLE KZN: Rafferty murder case remanded for High Court indictment
The case against Macu and Ngwenya is destined to be heard in the High Court.
Siyabonga Macu and Doctor Ngwenya, the first two accused in the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty last August, appeared in the Newcastle Magistrates B Court this morning.
Representatives of the State requested a postponement to April 30, as processes begin for case to be transferred to the High Court in either Madadeni or Pietermaritzburg.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Geyer declared the matter be remanded as requested, pending an indictment (a charge sheet of the High Court, which confirms the charges the accused will face there and the details of the court sitting).
Macu and Ngwenya remain in custody until their next court appearance.
