NEWCASTLE KZN: Five arrested for contravening Covid-19 curfew regulations
The five suspects have since appeared in court.

During an intelligence driven operation in the Osizweni policing area during the early hours of Thursday (April 29) law enforcement members hoped to focus on drugs and other cases.
Members from Osizweni Crime Prevention patrolled the public road next to Press Baptist Church, Section A and subsequently arrested one suspect for contravening Level 1 of 2021 of the Disaster Management Act of 2020 for ‘failing to confine to the place of residence’.
“The operation yielded positive results, as five suspects in total were arrested for contravening this act,” confirmed Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications office.
She revealed that the suspects were all aged between 22 and 28 and have since appeared in court.
