DUNDEE KZN: DHS athletes shake off rustiness

'New normal' - what's that? DHS does not do normal; we do 'extraordinary'.

“Finally…. after 1000 years, I am free!” – Rita Repulsa, Power Rangers

That thought must have passed through many an athlete’s head when Dundee High School hosted the inter-school athletics day on April 21.

Due to the current situation and restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of things were different at the annual athletics day.

Only athletes were invited and no spectators were allowed. It was lovely to be out in the sun, but it was extremely strange not having a full pavilion with songs like ‘We will rock you’ shaking the air.

All the athletes, although some were a bit rusty after the long lay-off due to the pandemic, gave their all… and as a school, we are proud of the way they pulled together as a unit to show what can be done, even in these crazy times. ‘New normal’ – what’s that? DHS does not do normal; we do ‘extraordinary’.
