NEWCASTLE KZN: Osizweni SAPS makes more drug-related arrests
The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is approximately R2 500.
Two suspects are in police custody, following an Intelligence Driven Operation in the Osizweni area earlier this week.
On May 3, SAPS officials followed a lead to a specific house in Section F, where one suspect was arrested for being in the possession of three small parcels of heroin, 10 Mandrax tablets and R170 in cash.
Later that night, members on patrol in Section A arrested a second suspect. In his possession was three Mandrax tablets.
“The operation yielded positive results… The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is plus-minus R2 500,” said Lizzy Arumugam from SAPS Corporate Communications.
The suspects, 35 and 63 years old respectively, appeared in the Madadeni Magistrates Court on Tuesday for possession of narcotics.
