NEWCASTLE KZN: Mayor receives his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

The Mayor visited Newcastle Provincial Hospital to receive the Covid-19 vaccine 'jab'.

Mayor of Newcastle, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba received his first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine today (May 18).

After a brief registration process at the Newcastle Provincial Hospital today, the Mayor was administered with first of two doses of the Pfizer vaccine (BioNTech). He is required to take a second jab in 21 days’ time to be considered vaccinated.

The Mayor has encouraged residents to register for Covid-19 vaccinations, to help reach the percentage required for so-called herd immunity.
