NEWCASTLE KZN: Five suspects nabbed for possession of stolen cattle
Five suspects were arrested for stock theft.

The fight against stock theft in the province is still on-going, according to Captain Nqobile Gwala of the SAPS Corporate Communications Department.
This came after a multi-disciplinary operation that was conducted on Monday (June 1) in Utrecht by the Zululand and Amajuba Stock Theft Task Team.
According to Gwala, the team was verifying information about livestock that had been stolen from a farm in Utrecht.
“A total of 24 stolen cattle were discovered at the suspects’ homes in Utrecht,” confirmed Gwala.
The rightful owner was able to positively identify the cattle as his.
Allegedly, the livestock had been stolen from his farm in Utrecht on several occasions earlier this year.
“Five suspects, aged 31 to 44, were arrested for stock theft and will appear in front of the Utrecht Magistrates’ Court soon.”
