NEWCASTLE KZN: Operational team hunts down housebreaking suspects
A large amount of stolen property has since been confirmed as linked to the housebreaking case.
A large amount of stolen property has been recovered, through another successful operation by local crime fighters.
Following a tip-off regarding three suspects, who broke into a house in May while the owner was out of town, an operational team was formed comprising Newcastle Crime Intelligence, Newcastle K9 Unit’s B shift, Newcastle Crime Prevention and Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team.
In the early hours of the morning, the team received confirmation of the suspects’ ‘safe house’ and conducted a raid. All three suspects were arrested.
Stolen property recovered during the operation include a stove, a fridge, a single bed, an iron, a DVD player, safety shoes, blankets, bed sheets and a television set. This property has since been confirmed as linked to the housebreaking case.
“Thanks to all involved on another job well done,” said Imran Ghafoor from the Crime Fighter Task Team.
