DUNDEE KZN: Jack Frost here to stay…

The sewage stench from the pond near the old tennis club is overpowering

As promised, the temperature has plummeted in Endumeni in recent days with very frosty mornings.

Today,  Jack Frost had again laid down his blanket of white as the mercury dropped well below zero. A minimum of minus 3 degrees was recorded in some areas in the district while a maximum of 17 is expected and a warmer 22 degrees on Monday.

A short trip to investigate how the cold had set in on the area also  an effluent-polluted pond in a clump of bush, adjacent to the old tennis club.

The icy water is almost green with sewage that appears to be flowing into the pond.

The stench is also overpowering. The area, sadly, is also being used as a dumping ground and what could be an ecological oasis in central Dundee, has become an environmental nightmare.

Not even Jack Frost’s creative, frosty creations could ease the sad scene.
