Kryptonite winners receive national invite
The school's Pragashini Dhewlall said being chosen for the Curro National Concert is a feather in the cap.
St Dominics Newcastle now has a total of nine Kryptonite awards in the high school from CAS 2022.
Grade 12 learner, Olwethu Ximba received an award for her IsiZulu monologue, while Grade 9 learner, Scarlett Uys received an award for her Afrikaans poem. This is Scarlett’s second Kryptonite award for this year.
Congratulations, young ladies – you have brought honour to yourselves, your families and your school,” said representatives of St Dominics.
The Curro Create programme for 2022 culminated in the highest accolade, with two Kryptonite awardees chosen to participate in a National Concert in Cape Town from July 20 to 24. Head of Culture for the high school, Pragashini Dhewlall said only the best of all the Kryptonite awardees in the country are invited to participate in this concert.
We are extremely proud of our young ladies, who will be representing St Dominics Newcastle and its Culture Department on such a big stage – literally.”
