A joyful return for Jehovah’s Witnesses to ‘in person’ conventions
Thousands looked on as Bible students were baptized in the baptismal pool, highlighting the second day of the three-day convention.
The IsiZulu congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses gathered at the Volksrust High School for their three-day IsiZulu convention, entitled “Exercise Patience”, from October 6-8.
This marked the first time Witnesses had gathered for larger regional events since the lifting of the pandemic restrictions. Thousands looked on as Bible students were baptized in the baptismal pool, highlighting the second day of the three-day convention.
“The Saturday programme at our annual conventions is always a highlight of the three days,’” said Daniel Dlamini, a local spokesman for the IsiZulu convention in Volksrust.
“Full immersion baptism marked a special day for approved candidates. The significance of the baptism and the powerfully compelling drama in the afternoon made quite an impact on those attending.
“Patience is a beautiful quality that all Christians desire to display in their daily lives. Despite our good intentions, however, maintaining patience in the face of life’s many challenges can be a daily struggle. The convention explored aspects of this quality and proved to be very timely for all of us.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses have been holding public conventions in stadiums, arenas, convention centres, and theatres around the world for more than 100 years. For more information, please go to jw.org and navigate to the “About Us” tab.
