The municipality holds a special prayer for matriculants of 2024

AbaQulusi Mayor Khehla Mkhwanazi emphasised that everybody needs God to cleanse their hearts to pave the way for ‘good wishes’ among people at all times

The matrics of 2024 have started with their final examinations and AbaQulusi Local Municipality saw the need for God’s intervention upon their lives before they started writing.
The municipality held a prayer session on Thursday at the Cecil Emmet Hall, which saw bishops, pastors, municipal officials and matric learners from local schools falling under the Bhekuzulu Circuit Management Cluster gathering to pray.
Councillor Swelakhe Shelembe read a scripture from Mark 4 verse 35: “‘Let’s cross over,’ Jesus said to his disciples.” Shelembe encouraged the learners to trust that Jesus will ‘cross them over’ all the obstacles as they write their final exams. AbaQulusi Mayor Khehla Mkhwanazi emphasised that everybody needs God to cleanse their hearts to pave the way for ‘good wishes’ among people at all times. Bishop Zakwe concluded the service by quoting a scripture from Mark 21-22: “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe you will receive.” After making a pledge, the matric class of 2024 received stationery and food parcels.
