The Cross Pollination Academy in Shoba, a vital wing of the Amasobode Foundation, recently held its first meeting of the year with great success. The gathering brought together key stakeholders, including parents, to discuss the academy’s plans and expectations for the year.
During the meeting, parents were encouraged to share their expectations for the support classes, which focus on English and Mathematics for grades 4-9 learners. The academy is committed to providing educational support to students, and the feedback from parents will help shape the direction of these classes.
Nedbank, a key supporter of the programme, was also present at the meeting. They facilitated a connection between the academy and the 63km marathon leaders, who generously donated five pairs of school shoes to learners attending Saturday classes at the centre.
The Academy expressed its appreciation for the continued support from both parents and sponsors. “We are grateful for the involvement and contributions that help make this programme a success,” said a representative from the academy.
Saturday classes run from 8 am to 1 pm at Shoba, and those interested in reaching out to the academy can contact them via Facebook or by calling 079 107 3654.
Parents made many positive suggestions at the meeting, committing to assist with improving security and helping build a kitchen at the centre to enhance the learning environment.
