Graduates ring bell to mark full-circle milestone

Learners at Tugela Pre-Vocational School celebrate graduation by ringing a ceremonial bell introduced as a meaningful rite of passage.

Seventy-one learners from the Bridging Group at Tugela Pre-Vocational School celebrated a symbolic milestone on Thursday, November 13, when each took a turn to ring the school’s ceremonial bell during their graduation.

The tradition, introduced by Principal Riaan du Plessis, has become a meaningful rite of passage for learners as they complete their journey at the school.

“Ringing the bell marks the transition from one educational stage to the next and signifies the end of their time at the school,” du Plessis explained.

The bell, he said, represents the full circle learners complete — from the moment they join the school to the moment they step confidently into their next chapter.

The best of luck in your new adventure!
