Police are responding to a cash in transit heist on the R68 Sunset Rest road this evening.
Reports suggested that a heavily armed group of men fired at the G4s van.
It is unclear at this stage if anyone was injured or if cash was taken.
The gang was said to be travelling in two vehicles and a Mercedes Benz and could have gone on to the N 11 or towards the Wasbank area
