Burglars cut open church safe

Businesses and churches have been targeted in recent weeks

Burglars struck at the NG Church, Fouche Street, in the early hours of the morning, cutting open the safe and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and other goods.

Police said the thieves used angle grinders to cut open the safe after entry to the building was gained through a side door.

It appears as if the alarm had been tampered with. Dundee businesses, schools and churches have suffered at the hands of burglars in recent weeks.

A police investigation is underway and anyone with information regarding the break-in at the church is urged to come forward.
