A ‘purrfect’ days of bowls shows that the SPCA is barking up the right tree to raise funds
After a day of bowls, it was the 'dream team' of Brian Hedley, Louis de Jager, Stuart Talanda and Cameron Fogg that took the honours, just as they did in the Rotary fund-raiser in June.
A ‘purr-fect’ day of bowls was arranged at Dundee Bowls Club on Saturday, as a fund-raiser for the SPCA.
Players consisting of seasoned bowlers and novices joined in the fun, with many (like Angus Miller and Daniel and Nikkie Lippke) even donning ‘whiskers and Dalmatian suits’ in an effort to fit into the theme of the day.
Some of the team names also had a distinctive ‘animal feel’ about them, with the Hound Dogs, Worsies and others doing battle on the greens.
Dundee High was also well represented, with current Rotary Club German exchange student Mare Siedentoph teaming up with Andiswa Lukele and Pieter Bester to have some fun in the sun.
There was much hilarity too, mainly thanks to the team of Nicholas Kelbrick, Jessica Jones and Debbie Sharp – with Candice Coetsee also joining in on the antics.

The Worsies family team of Dillan Guelpa, Mariska Pieterse, Melanie Guelpa and Rudie Guelpa took second place.
Teams also brought along tins of pet food for the SPCA, for which newly-elected SPCA chairperson Dillin Clarke expressed the committee’s gratitude.
