Dundee’s Home Growers Market serves up great taste

The market combined a smorgasbord of entertainment - from a potjiekos competition, art to old fashioned games.

Growing’ a taste for a unique potjie recipe ‘Fun and exhilarating’ are words that could be used to describe the recent Home Growers Market. Community members, both young and old, brought along their produce as they bartered and bought local goods.

The competition was stiff in the potjiekos contest and the judges had to deliberate for quite some time before deciding on the winners. The youngest competitor was 12-year old Retief Bester, who took second place with his modern pasta potjie.

Manda Jacobs took third spot. “The judging was very difficult, as all the entries were so good and tasty,” said organiser Talisha-Mari Muller.
“Thank you to all who supported us and partook in the events. “It is an honour to share our community with you,” she added.
