Marchers in Dannhauser demand justice after young mother is stabbed to death in front of her son (7)

The brutal attack stunned the closely knit former mining community of nearby Durnacol.

Angered by the brutal murder of a young Durnacol woman, residents took to the streets and marched through Dannhauser last Wednesday.
They aimed to highlight the seemingly never-ending scourge of gender-based violence.
Nongcebo Dludla (27) was stabbed about 30 times in front of her seven-year-old son at her home in Durnacol on October 20.
Her attacker knocked on her door and when she answered, he stabbed her repeatedly.

He later handed himself over to the police.
The group of women who marched, led by Zelda Joubert, were friends of Nongcebo and expressed their outrage at what they described as a shocking attack in the quiet former mining village.
Nongcebo worked at Exxaro in Durnacol.

The alleged killer, Nelson Zwane, appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court on November 20.
The case was postponed to December 12.
“Justice delayed, but we’ll keep fighting!
“We’ll continue to support the family and advocate for Nongcebo,” said a defiant Joubert.
