Dundee Rotary Club closes an active year with a treat for the senior citizens

Dundee's Rotarians have reached out to help the community in many ways in 2024.

The Rotary Club has thanked the local community for another year of service project opportunities.
Rotarian Bev Garner said it was again a busy year for the active Dundee Club and the projects included the End Polio Swimarathon; the first golf day in many years; the return of the international dental project after the pandemic; the Winter Warmth Bowls; and the gimmicky R2 project in November when about R21,000 worth of food was collected and distributed to three homes for the elderly, the SPCA and a care centre for children.
The year ended with a small gift for each of the 210 learners from Pro Nobis, in partnership with Round Table, who organised a Father Christmas (ho ho ho) and finally the Golden Oldies Day at Fort Mistake. This is where senior citizens are treated to a day out in the country and a delicious lunch.
“You and your organisation know of the contributions you have made; and for this, a heartfelt thank you for assisting the Rotary Club of Dundee to witness so many happy smiling faces from the many recipients,” said Bev.
