Dundee Adult Centre enjoys plenty of holiday action

The Adult Care Centre closed off a dynamic year in style.

December was a busy month for the Dundee Adult Care Centre where the activities never cease.
On December 13, as most people geared up for the festive season, the Endumeni Disaster Team arrived at the Centre to give residents and staff life-saving tips on what to do when a fire breaks out on the premises.
The efficient staff also gave a practical demonstration of how fire personnel quickly respond to callouts and what to do if they find themselves in a smoke-filled room.

Yusuf Khan and his ADT team were also there to donate an iconic Cell-C Sharks rugby jersey, signed by the team of that era courtesy of Wahl Bartmann, the Chief Executive Officer at Fidelity Services group.
Willie Steenberg of the Care Centre explained that the framed rugby jersey will be auctioned as a fundraiser.
Shortly after that, Louis and Samantha Fourie of Avbob arrived at the Centre to donate clothing and other items – for which the Centre was very grateful.

Willie Steenberg calls Andre Labuschagne that he was the winner!

On December 31, there was again plenty of action when Marius van der Walt of the Centre prepared a huge pot of potjiekos while residents and staff cooled off in the portable pool.
Later, the draw was done to determine the winner of a two-night stay for two at the Bosch Hoek Lodge including 18 holes of golf for two guests worth over R6900.

The prize was arranged by Jackie (who works at the Centre) and Jules Coetzee. The lucky draw, overseen by the Courier, was won by Andre Labuschagne who was called by Willie Steenberg to be told of the good news.
The funds raised will go towards buying new underwear and towels for the Centre.
