Glencoe Violet Primary earns top honour for promoting environmental conservation

Glencoe Violet Primary celebrates a major environmental award for inspiring learners and educators to promote sustainability and conservation.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs has recognised Glencoe Violet Primary School for its outstanding commitment to environmental conservation.

MEC Musa Zondi last month presented the school with a prestigious award and certificate for the School Environment Education Programme (SEEP) at the Sibaya Sun in Durban.

This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the learners, educators and SEEP Committee. Throughout the year, the school was evaluated on various environmental projects, including learner-led initiatives and the school’s Green Environment Programme.

Staff demonstrated dedication to environmental conservation

“We are thrilled to have met all the requirements and excelled in these areas,” said the school in a statement. “A huge congratulations to our learners, educators and the SEEP Committee, especially Miss T. Govender, for her tireless efforts in preparing a presentation that showcased the commitment of both learners and staff. Your dedication to environmental conservation is truly inspiring, and we are proud to be part of the Glencoe Violet Primary community.”

This award stands as a shining example of the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible and environmentally conscious citizens. “We look forward to continuing our excellent work in promoting sustainability and environmental education.”

Well done, Glencoe Violet Primary!
