Dundee Round Tablers roll up sleeves to save lives at blood drive

Dundee Round Tablers and supporters exceeded their blood-drive target, helping save dozens of live

Known for their fund-raising activities that help the needy, Dundee’s Round Tablers literally rolled up their sleeves on Saturday to give blood at the donor clinic hosted at their clubhouse.
The efficient staff from the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) were on hand to gently ease the first-timers – including Table chairman Bjorn Talanda – through the ‘daunting’ experience.

Tablers rallied the community

The Tablers rallied their friends and associates to take some time out of their afternoon to save lives.
“Thanks to all who came out today, even though it was a Saturday,” said the happy Round Table chairman, Shivani Sewpaul of the SANBS, thanked the donors, adding that the target had been 20.
“We had 23 donors and collected 21 units – meaning that 63 lives were saved,” Sewpaul told the Courier.
