Dundee walkers discover suspected drug paraphernalia off Tandy Street

Two Dundee men raise alarm after finding discarded capsules and syringes near a short-cut to school and town.

A late Sunday afternoon stroll turned into a disturbing discovery for two Dundee men who found capsules, tablets and syringes discarded near a footpath off Tandy Street.

The men, who asked not to be named, believe the items may be linked to drug activity in the area.

Residents raise safety concerns

One of the men said the overgrown bush adjacent to the Golf Club is known locally as a hiding place for vagrants.

“Several residents have reported burglaries in this area, with suspects allegedly using the bush to store stolen goods,” he claimed.

The pair said they regularly walk there because of its birdlife and peaceful surroundings. However, they described the discarded medication and syringes as alarming, noting that some tablets appeared to have spilled from their packets.

They chose not to remove the items, fearing contamination.

The men added that the space has the potential to become a family-friendly park if cleared and properly maintained, but instead it has become a gathering spot for undesirable activity.
