Multiple arrests made during Intelligence Driven Operation
Various narcotics such as Mandrax, Heroine and Crystal Myth were confiscated during the raid.
Five suspects recently appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court for being in possession of illegal narcotics.
This followed an Intelligence Driven Operation conducted by the Amajuba Cluster Task Team and the Osizweni Crime Prevention Unit between Tuesday, October 4 and Wednesday, October 5.
The first arrest was made after officers arrived at a house in Section A.
“Upon arrival, one suspect (31) was arrested after being found in possession of 30 full Mandrax tablets, estimated to be worth around R3000 on the street,” said Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications Officer, Lizzy Arumugam.
