Mayor joins churches in prayer to stop natural disasters

Congregants sang, danced and shared the Good Word together

Alfred Duma Mayor Zama Sibisi attended an inter-churches prayer at the Ezimbuzini Hall in Watersmeet today (February 8).

The prayer was organised by different churches in Ward 16 and 18.

The aim of the event was to comfort families who lost loved ones during the recent flooding in and around Ladysmith.

Members of the different churches, as well as ward councillors and bereaved families, gathered in the hall.

The mayor gave a message of support, saying, “Churches should never cease to pray. Pray always and also pray for us in public positions so that God can protect us.”

He commended the community of Ladysmith for standing together during the flooding.
