Mediclinic Newcastle plants trees in honour of Earth Day

The hospital used the day to remind the community of the importance of environmental protection and sustainability.

Mediclinic Newcastle planted 20 Kareeboom trees on the hospital grounds on April 22 to celebrate Earth Day by raising awareness on the critical environmental challenges facing our planet and the need for everyone to do what they can to address them.

Mediclinic Manage Mathys Bornman spoke on the importance of the day and the benefits of planting trees.

“Planting of trees is consistently ranked as a top climate change solution thus we have decided to plant 20 Kareeboom trees,” he said

“With this endeavour, we not only wish to contribute to fixing the climate change situation, but also to create a standing monument for future generations to fortify the importance of caring AND actively participating in that caring process, of our environment.”
