Local businessman donates toilets to crèche

Magubane encourages other businesses to also make a difference by 'giving back' to the community

Local businessman and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) member Khethani Magubane from Cornfields, Estcourt, recently donated toilets to Zamokuhle Crèche.

Magubane, who works at Estcourt Hospital, was shocked and saddened when he saw the condition of the ablution facilities at the crèche. He said the children have a hard upbringing and have to travel long distances on foot to get to school, and he doesn’t want the kids to experience that kind of life. So he decided to ‘give back’ to the community and lend a helping hand.

’I am very excited that my wish to build these toilets succeeded, which took me almost three months to finish. I did this because I like to see my area get developed, as it is still behind in terms of development. Mayor Mduduzi Myeza is trying, but as the community, we also need to stand together and help where we can. I also want to thank the teachers for giving me this opportunity and trusting me,” he said.

Accompanied by other IFP members, Magubane also donated school uniforms.

Crèche principal Ms Mukelisiwe Ngcobo thanked him for keeping his promises, as she has encountered empty promises in the past.
