Water interruptions expected due to planned maintenance

uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the community of Alfred Duma Local Municipality that the Department of Water & Sanitation is planning a maintenance shutdown at the Spioenkop Dam pump station.

The shutdown will be held on February 18 and 19, starting at 08:00.

As a result, the raw water supply from the Spioenkop Dam pump station will be switched off.

The shutdown will affect the Ladysmith Water Treatment Works and its areas of supply. Areas that will be affected by water interruptions include: Old Golf Course, Van Riebeeck Park, Golf Course, CBD, Observation Hill, Egerton, Steadville, Mkhamba Gardens, Modelkloof, Limit Hill, Danskraal Industrial Area, Area J and St Chad’s.

The community and industry are advised to use water sparingly and store water in containers if possible.
