Pool of stinky sewer water outside Estcourt school

The raw effluent could spread further and completely block the main school gate.

The persistent sewer problem in front of Drakensberg Secondary School continues to cause serious challenges for learners, teachers and the surrounding community. Despite being reported on previously by the Estcourt News, the issue remains unresolved.

Smelly water from an overflowing sewer not only makes it difficult to get into the school, but also affects a nearby tuck shop and households in the neighbourhood. Community members fear that, if left unattended, this could pose a serious health hazard for everyone in the vicinity.

Security guards stationed at the gate are exposed to this unhygienic situation throughout the day.

Concerned parents and residents living in the area are once again pleading with the relevant authorities to urgently address the matter before it worsens any further.
