Visitors delighted at Fort Amiel horror cosplay evening
Visitors enjoyed some spooky fun, exciting games, good food and a museum tour at Fort Amiel’s annual Halloween cosplay event to help raise funds for the Newcastle SPCA.
Howling winds added to the eerie Halloween atmosphere at the annual Cosplay event held at Fort Amiel on Friday, October 31.

The event was hosted and organised by Malesha Ragunanan, and Fort Amiel Museum curator, Louis Eksteen.
This was the second year that the Nightmare Market has been held.
“The main idea and purpose of this market and entertainment is to bring like-minded individuals together while providing a family-friendly outing for our community,“ Rangunana said.
“I often hear people complain that there isn’t much family entertainment or outdoor activities to do in Newcastle. I am a person of action and a lover of movies and comics. The Nightmare Market is a modern approach to bring our town together.”
Her favourite activities of the evening were the Trick-or-Treat, ghost hunt with a flashlight, and, of course, Louis’ Spooky Museum Tour.
Ragunanan concluded by thanking all who assisted in making the event such a success.
Anyone who would like to collaborate or contribute to next year’s market can contact her on 073 6279 034.
