Children celebrate heritage at Newcastle Hindu camp

Children gathered at the Shri Ramakrishna Centre to celebrate Hindu heritage through games, yoga, culture and learning.

Day of fun, knowledge and development

On Sunday, March 8, children from across Newcastle came together at the Shri Ramakrishna Centre for a day of fun, knowledge and development.

Promoting ideals and spiritual values

This Hindu Heritage Camp, in association with the Hindu Society of Newcastle and the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, has an annual mission to organise and consolidate the Hindu community. The idea was to promote Hindu ideals, spiritual values, Yoga and meditation practices.

“We want the children to learn about their heritage in a fun way,” the organisers said. “It is great to see the children of Newcastle coming together to learn more about their Hindu heritage; together with the enthusiasm to develop into a valuable citizen in society.”

Thanks to all those involved

The Hindu Society of Newcastle thanks all those involved in making the day a memorable event, and encourages the children to participate in future events.
