Congratulations to Jaiden van der Vaart, Maverick Keegan van der Merwe and Lindo Nxumalo of Shuriken Kickboxing Club for competing in the Warriors K1 2 event, which was held at the ZCBF Sports Grounds in Richards Bay on May 16.

The competition featured five boxing bouts and 14 kickboxing matches, with Shuriken fighters delivering impressive performances throughout the day.

Strong performances in preliminary bouts

In the preliminary matches, Jaiden van der Vaart of Shuriken Kickboxing Club faced Malwande in a three-round contest, with each round lasting two minutes.

Van der Vaart lost on points after a hard-fought battle and was awarded a silver medal.

Maverick Keegan van der Merwe also represented Shuriken in the preliminary card. He faced Kyle in a three-round bout and narrowly lost on points, also earning a silver medal.

Nxumalo claims gold on the main card

On the main card, Lindo Nxumalo delivered an outstanding performance against Shuaib.

Nxumalo secured victory with a technical knockout in the third round, earning a gold medal for Shuriken Kickboxing Club.

The next Warriors K1 event is scheduled to take place on December 12.

Shuriken Kickboxing Club congratulated its fighters on their achievements and said it is proud of the dedication and hard work shown by its students.
