Making a difference in the community on Mandela Day
Keeping the neighbourhood clean was the change that needed to be made in the community
Drakensview Primary School learners spent their 67 minutes for Mandela Day (July 18) on the neighbouring streets of the school.
Learners took to the streets equipped with black refuse bags ready to clean up the neighbourhood for their act of kindness on the day.
Keeping the neighbourhood clean was the change that needed to be made in the community.
The roads surrounding the school are always busy and with the amount of traffic flowing through these streets, litter always seems to follow.
Jannie de Waal Avenue, Bert Webster Street, Hugh Avenue, Roy McFie, Oliver Cooke Avenue and Ntabamhlophe Road were the focus streets being cleaned by learners.
The public park behind the school was also given a thorough clean-up.
