It was another busy week of sport for Vryheid High School (VHS), filled with both triumphs and hard-fought battles.

The U/15 cricket team faced Dundee in a tough encounter and, despite a strong effort, went down by six wickets. The first team, however, brought home the victory in their match, winning by a narrow margin of 13 runs. Looking ahead, both teams are preparing for their next fixture against Pionier.

The netball players also shone this week, with the U/17 team taking part in the prestigious Amajuba SPAR Fast Five Netball Challenge. The girls played outstandingly well to reach the finals. In a nail-biting finish, they narrowly lost by just one point, earning respect for their skill and determination.

On the athletics front, Elzanni Erasmus continued to make the school proud. Competing in her second ASA athletics competition, she showed her versatility by claiming first place in the 100m sprint, second place in the 200m, and third place in shot put. Her achievements highlight the depth of talent at VHS.
