Amazing moments

You have the ability to make any of the hundred moments in your day meaningful or special.

As we get older, the more we tend to believe that life is made up of a few amazing moments surrounded by a sea of average events, dotted with ships of hard and sad moments.

We tend to photograph the amazing and put it in frames (or Facebook), learn to accept and cope with the hard, and spend a great deal of time complaining about the mundane. Very few people felt like cooking dinner last night or waking up for work this morning.

This is caused by a lack of imagination and patience, and the inability to realise that some of the greatest moments in your life don’t need to be marked by an invitation, special event or car trip to some foreign destination. Do you take the time to stop and appreciate the beauty around you?

Probably not. Josh Bell, a world-famous musician posed as a busker at a train station in the USA. Despite the fact that he was playing a $3.5 million violin and had just played at a sold-out music concert at a world famous venue, very few people stopped to appreciate his performance.

We have come to accept that some days are just meant to be average and part of the mundane. We have become accustomed to complaining about these days and events, almost as if we have no control over how they play out.

This is a state of mind. You have the ability to make any of the hundred moments in your day meaningful or special.
