It’s no secret that no one ever does anything about the trucks parked in the residential areas.
For so many years, we have been trying the police and the municipality, the traffic department and the councillors but no one can help to remove these trucks.
It’s of no use for the Municipal Manager to say they will attend to it, because it won’t happen.
The trucks are damaging our roads and cause a huge noise when they start up; this is usually very early in the morning.
Maybe if we started seeing fines issued for these offences, we could start to believe that this would be investigated.
In town, the truck drivers have become accustomed to not being disturbed, so they get a good night’s sleep at the peril of our town’s folk. Something must be done to curb the number of trucks in the residential areas and town. They are a menace.
