Madam – Don’t Bank on them!

On Thursday the 9th, I hurriedly went to the ATM outside a bank at the Mall. I wanted a balance statement that the new machines can now print, so no need to enter. I got it, started reading and ventured off.

I only realised on Saturday afternoon that I forgot my card in the machine. On Monday, I went to the bank to ask for the return of my card, as this had happened to me once in Johannesburg, where the cards are collected in a box ‘if’ the owner comes to claim it.

I was quite astonished when the assistant told me that the card was destroyed and that I had to purchase a new one for R65. I spoke to the branch manager who explained that an external company opened up the ATMs and cut the cards they found in half.

That means that in order for me to have a card again I am forced to purchase another!

As if banks do not charge us too much for other things like even deposit,s ie. giving them money, then we are also charged when taking the money out, charged everytime you use the ATM, even just for checking balances.

NOW they are charging you for a new card that was in their possession, BUT they destroyed it. Capatalistic world hey? Everybody PLEASE make sure you remove your card, don’t be human and forget, because they now want us programmed as computers!
