Madam – Re: letter from Louren dated 22 August.

Your title we have freedom of association in country speaks volume, you say you only associate with your colour group, then you have no right to judge others and make remarks as murdering of those who put food on our table.

You seem to forget it is the sweat of the black man that flourishes the farmers’ land that puts food on your table, My god provides the food on my table; you are still living under apartheid, and it’s time you woke up!

If you all have to think like that, what role model are you to your children? You bring up politics to justify your means by saying you oppose ANC and everything it stands for. ANC has done more for the town you live in than any other, and then you have no right to use the recreational facilities, such as the Eco Parks or the proposed medical university, as you are classing yourself as a hypocrite!

This march was not about politics; there were a lot of people who took part in the march for HUMANITY, who did not support ANC but those leaving the march will seriously have to rethink who to vote for in the next election. It’s quite sad everyone is living under a pretext of a rainbow nation. You bring up the past for what purpose?

Every nation has its own history; let’s not divert from the real issue here. There is a war going on, (WAR ON GAZA), from a brutal regime and you are trying your very best to justify them.

You talk about tunnels being built by Palestinians. You are very quick to jump the gun. Why should it be just one-sided? You must practise what you preach. What about the tunnels built by the Israelis under Al Aqsa mosque.

After Israel introduced the blockade, smuggling became Gazans alternative; they did not choose to use the tunnels, it was too hard for them to stand still during the siege and accept poverty.

The tunnels for many Palestinians symbolise their native ingenuity, the memory and the dream of mobility. It symbolises better things and perhaps most significant for a population defined by dispossession, a sense of control over the land.

The irony that control must be won by going beneath the land is not lost on the Gazans and with many farms devastated by war, other lands lying unproductive in areas restricted by Israel or either occupied by Israel; livestock and many goods have to be smuggled in through the tunnels, their only means to survive.

For the majority of them the tunnels remain their lifeline, almost the whole of Gaza is under land, that was not their choice, it was to live or die, what would you do?

If you could put yourself in the Palestinian situation, can u live under siege, for 67 years or would you fight resistance? The Palestinians’ rights have been violated; what about the children’s rights, their right to education, their right to play on the beach, their right to LIVE, they dream of one day waking up to the sounds of birds chirping not to the sound of bombs!

Israel needs to account for war crimes; it is a terrorist state.

“Terrorism is the deliberate and systematic murder, maiming and menacing of the innocent to inspire fear for political ends,” and who other than Israel’s Netanyahu said those very words in 1986……..Just for the record, the whole of Gazas shoreline is filled with gas………..GAS that is rightfully the Palestinians’, enough for them to be one of the richest states in the Middle East, makes you really think doesn’t it………….

United we stand, divided we fall!!!
