AT OUR September open committee meeting the following decisions were taken:
1. The ARA contribution to the Paddadam Renovation Project to be increased from R3,000 to R10,000.
2. The ARA would offer a reward of R250 to any person who could give evidence, such as a photo, leading to the conviction of any of the varmints who pollute our environment by dumping rubbish in public places such as parks.
3. To request the AbaQulusi Local Municipality (ALM) to make a 4-way stop at the intersection of East and Heeren Streets.
4. To report to the ALM the malfunction of the robot filter arrow at the junction of Kerk and Emmett streets.
5. A suggestion to bring back membership application forms was rejected because they have been replaced by the far better printed and numbered combined application /receipt books. The treasurer explained that this afforded her far better control than the old system that was open to abuse.
6. In future questions from the floor will be restricted to paid up members of the ARA although attendance is open to the public.
