Sir,
The service to the poor provided by the Crisis Centre and Orange Grove Dairy in the form of an exchange of nutritious dairy food for sundry recyclable materials cannot be allowed to stop!
The Dundee Railway Station, owned by Transnet, has five large, secure unused goods sheds in Karellandman Street. Surely the Crisis Centre sponsors (Rotarians and a church group) can rent a shed or two from Transnet for the purpose of distributing the food three days a week, and storing the waste materials for a few hours on those days?
I appeal to all parties involved in this vital service, including Endumeni Municipality, to find a solution to the problem created so unnecessarily.
