Blessed are those…

Blessed are they who make it known that I am loved, respected and not alone

On October 1 International Day of Older Persons was celebrated. Grandparents Day was celebrated on October 6 and on the 12th, International Arthritis Day was marked. Below is a poem to honour the elderly folk.
1. Blessed are they who understand my faltering step and shaking hand.
2. Blessed are they who know my ears today must strain to catch the things they say.
3. Blessed are they who seem to know my eyes are dim and my mind is slow.
4. Blessed are they who look away when tea is spilt on the cloth that day.
5. Blessed are they with a cheery smile who stopped to chat for a while.
6. Blessed are they who never say ‘You’ve told that story twice today.”
7. Blessed are they who make it known that I am loved, respected and not alone.
8. And blessed are they who have eased the days on my journey home in many loving ways.
