School show makes parent a ‘fool’

The damn show insulted the Rastafarian's attire, never included any black people's daily lives and their traditional attire

My heart is broken after being made a fool by Drakensview Primary School. Last week they organised a show for the grade three learners, where they collected close to R50 000 from us parents and our children.

They first had a stage show that the school children paid R10 to watch and for two days parents were forced to attend as they were threatened that their children’s end of term examination marks will be deducted if they do not attend.

What a tricky money-spinner from the school! I wonder if the Education Department allows this? The damn show insulted the Rastafarian’s attire, never included any black people’s daily lives and their traditional attire. It focuses on one teacher’s class who invented it and other children never enjoyed taking part in it.

It was clear that it was made by one white person and black teachers were never given a chance to put their view in. Can we be refunded our money immediately? Unless we call the Public Protector or the Economic Freedom Fighters to demand back our money looted by the school.

It is regrettable that ‘Anonymous’ did not discuss these unsubstantiated accusations with the principal directly
