Sir,
We note with interest that a local businessman has taken sudden interest in our frustrating plight, “Non-delivery of the long awaited Title Deeds” (Courier dated December 5). He claims that he “is still fighting the issue to ensure…” We have been fighting this matter for well over fifteen years and now we are expected to buy into this type of advertisement.
The entire issue of promises and misleading explanations is highly politicised spanning up to nineteen years, during which time, the deserving, old and impoverished victims have waited in vain. Many have passed on. In the midst of all this, we have repeatedly had unfortunate instances where charlatans and fly-by-nighters with hidden agendas coming out of the woods and claiming to be in a position to solve our problems.
We can only surmise that the real motive of some individuals is to garner votes during the forthcoming local government elections. Watch this space.
We struggled all along, and are still working our way through the right channels and are hopeful to finally receive our title deeds. We can do without the ‘good Samaritans’.
