Editor – I wonder how many people are experiencing relationship woes in this town at the moment.
Aren’t relationships a strange thing? It starts with an attraction and ultimately succeeds if there is a meeting of minds and a determination to overcome the inevitable obstacles that come your way.
Another strange aspect is that sometimes you don’t realise just how precious your relationship is until you give up on it and then… Bang, it hits you that what you’ve just thrown away is the best thing you had and you don’t find it around every corner. On the contrary, love is very elusive!
Anyway, we have regular columns on this page written by counsellors, so maybe they will see fit to shed some light on this ‘love’ thing that has been the preoccupation of poets since Shakespeare, and probably before him too!
One such French poet once said (and I believe quite rightly): “If love is not insanity, then it is not love.” Wow, how many of us dare probe that statement and see the truth lurking behind it?
Enough of my cynicism…There are probably a lot of happy people out there who don’t want to delve too deeply into the psyche.
Love is roses and all that, but is it? Love (or ignorance) is bliss – you make up your own mind!
