Editor – I am so frustrated and annoyed when I read newspaper articles about burst water pipes in almost every road in Ladysmith. What is uThukela doing about this situation? It should be a priority of uThukela’s to fix burst pipes as soon as they are damaged; not wait for hours to get the problem fixed.
I feel it is very unfair to the residents of this town and I feel discouraged when I see fresh, clean water going to waste as it flows down the road and into storm water drains.
We all end up paying for it on our water accounts at the end of the month. And make no mistake, if our accounts aren’t paid on the turn, then uThukela wastes no time in disconnecting us.
If only they were this prompt when it comes to fixing leaking pipes all over town!
I feel that uThukela should catch a wake-up and do what they’re getting paid to do, not wait to read about it on media sites before fixing the problem.
I hope someone ‘high up’ sees this letter and takes the matter to heart!
