Madam – Last of last week’s article stated that the passers-by called for ambulance, etc.
Lies! I Sumaya Shaikh called the police and they never came, then I called the ambulance services and guess what? They actually found the place calling me back once.
The odd fact is that my youngest son was opening the gate for his transport to come pick him up at about 6.30am and he came running to me saying that an old lady was being attacked by the same pack of dogs that attacked his friend two weeks before this incident.
This place of attack is a big bush between Dixon Street and Panorama Drive. We were sad that we were helpless as we saw her being dragged by dogs and she disappearing into the long grass. My son, Omar, was ready to go into the bush to save her, but I had to stop him. Her screams were drowned by the snarling of the dogs.
Amazing part is the guy where the dogs stay could not hear a thing and he was like a few metres away from her, but we, further away could hear her. He came to her aid after a very long time and tried hitting the dogs with a stick only to chase one while the others were still on her. He then left the lady on the ground, not helping her.
We don’t want any recognition but the truth is nobody helped her. We did and after a few days we learned that it was my second son’s helper. Really heartsore that she had to endure so much of pain because of a negligent owner. Why did the SPCA do nothing about it??? Last year we were giving the SPCA business to wash and spoil our pets and what did the lady do? Said our pets were being locked up wrongfully, and she and I got into an argument and they put it in the paper!!! These dogs are a menace and danger to society.
The owner should be fined and dogs be put down as they are always doing this and they bark the whole night and attack people all the time. This is the only attack reported!!!
