The weird and wonderful happenings at Condomisation Park
Maybe the soulful noise created at the park is the main attraction. Surely buying 6 by 9 speakers that cost more than the car itself is worth it, if it can create such a beautiful noise that the nearby Police are called to join in.

Coronation park has been making headlines recently for the incessant littering, rowdy get togethers, and charou-style spin-offs not to mention boot jols.
The park is really making waves in Dundee and can be dubbed as Fornication Park, Four Ways, Lugs and even condomisation park (owing to the fact that there are more condoms than flowers that decorate the grounds.)
But the popularity of the Dundee park is giving Hatfield Square in Pretoria competition, Blue Lagoon in Durban a run for its money and Los-my-Cherry dam (in Glencoe for those not in the loop) is seriously losing customers.
Now with that being said, it makes one wonder whats so special about this park – its not like fairies live there or the Nkandla firepool is situated there.
Noo, its more than that.
I would love to be a fly on the wall, or in this case a condom in the grass, to really see what makes the park the place to be.
It could be the beautiful scenery that comprises of a touch of brightly coloured broken bottles here, a pattern of condoms there and Nandos, KFC and even Debonair boxes everywhere.
The other sounds such as the giggling of children, or the spinning of tyres or even the fighting of drunken mates all come together and form one loud orchestra.
If the soulful tunes aren’t doing the trick maybe the parks fame is due to the impressive spin-offs it hosts almost weekly.
People come from as far as Richards Bay to spin their Golfs and grind their engines.
Now one can’t spin on an empty stomach so with it comes the sheesha nyamas (braai’s) and the pagla paani (alcohol) maybe the aroma emitted from this is the draw card.
Or maybe the park transforms itself into a mini Paris at night and hence is the romance capital of Dundee.
Where boy meets girl, girl likes boy, they go to Condomisation Park and run in between the bottles, hide behind the burnt trees and roll in the condoms just like they do in Bollywood movies.
Now one can speculate to the heavens and beyond but the true secret to the popularity of the park will always remain a secret.
So lets leave it be and simply embrace the weird and wonderful happenings of Condomisation Park. Poor Johann and company…
