The power of a compliment

Giving a compliment has real power to do good in the world and it doesn't cost you more than 45 seconds of your life

“Everybody likes a compliment.” Abraham Lincoln
Encounters of when I have felt down and out, and some stranger walks up to you and gives you a compliment and you feel like you can survive on that compliment for the rest of your life, have surfaced a lot lately. A compliment from a stranger has the ability to turn your whole day around.

It can make you hopeful or happy. It can make you love an outfit you thought was terrible. It can make your day. It can make you feel beautiful. It blesses both the receiver and the giver alike.

Giving a compliment has real power to do good in the world and it doesn’t cost you more than 45 seconds of your life. I want to be the kind of person who lifts other people up (just like others have done for me). Politeness and even compliments themselves have become so rare. Do you strive to lift others up?

It’s so easy to find something positive when you look for it, so I want to encourage you to look for opportunities to do just that. Maybe tie it to your daily routine, it’s an easy trick to help you spread some cheer and make someone’s day a little brighter. That way you develop a little trick to remind yourself to give honest heart-warming compliments. To all my #Fresh Takers whom celebrate Easter, may you and your family be blessed with abundant happiness and inner peace.
